This page was designed to help individuals learn more about the various features that make up the Go-Joe Reader Program. There are multiple topic pictures located throughout this page that, when clicked, direct individuals to pages containing more information on the selected topic. Feel free to click any picture on this page that displays an “active hand” to learn more about the selected feature.

This page utilizes a live database to help individuals see how some of the Go-Joe features work in real time. Feel free to test any of the Go-Joe Reader Program's features. Add student minutes, edit student names, print parent letters, alter classroom information; the database automatically resets itself every (10) queries to maintain page uniformity. So go ahead and play. There is nothing that can be damaged.

General Layout of the Go-Joe Tracker

District's reading goal status. Average minutes read by students. Reading minutes converted to miles. The tracking of the district's goal. This feature plots the reading efforts of all grades in a single building, all like grades in the district, and all schools in the district. The MAIN action button. The journey status bar. Active pictures from current location. Active pictures from current location. Go-Joe's Current Location  There are five Learning Games, each of which have six progressively more difficult levels. View the top and most improved readers in each grade. Learn about Joe’s personal history and how he came into being. Test your knowledge of the five games against the timer. Will you get the high score? Look Back / Look Ahead
The Action Button:
The Action Button is the primary feature that distinguishes the Key Keeper, Teacher and Student screens from each other. The Action Button is used to perform the primary tasks of each group it belongs to. Whether you want to print class lists, edit student names, or enter daily reading minutes; the Action Button is the method used to access these options.

Keeper Overview:
The Key Keeper can lookup the Usernames and Passwords of every individual in the school, so the task is usually given to a media specialist or lead teacher in the building. Prior to starting a journey, the Key Keeper usually prints (2) class lists for every classroom in their school; one copy is given to the teacher and the other is kept on file (Teachers can print their own class lists if they wish).


The Key Keeper's action button is located just below the status bar. It activates the Keeper Tools page when clicked. The main page of the Keeper Tools feature displays the login information of every teacher in the building. Option buttons located on the top of the Keeper Tools page provides access student information and other features as well.

Teacher Overview:
The Teacher is the key link between students and the Go-Joe Reader Program.  Although teachers never have to type student names, usernames, passwords, etc, they have several time-saving options available to them to help efficiently manage the success of the Program.



The Teacher's action button is located just below the status bar. This button accesses the Teacher Tools page. Options within the Teacher Tools feature provide teachers with the ability to enter individual student reading minutes, create mass reading entries, print parent information sheets, print student login information, and edit student names.

 STUDENT SCREEN  
Student Overview:
Every student participating in the Go-Joe Reader Program will receive either a Class Password (K-2), or a Username and Password (3-6), depending on their grade level. Students should use their unique login information whenever they enter reading minutes. This ensures the reading minutes are properly placed on the server so their class, and the individual student, receives the credit.

The Student action button is located just below the status bar. Student should click this button whenever they wish to enter reading minutes. Once their minutes have been entered, students may "Track their Individual Progress" by selecting the [District Goal] option in the Main Menu. The student's total minutes entered to date will be displayed, along with the district's cumulative miles and current status.

 PARENT "PEEK" SCREEN  
PEEK Overview:
The [PEEK] button is a useful tool for both Parents and Students. The feature provides a quick and easy method of checking Go-Joe's progress without needing a password. No personal information can be accessed using this feature. Any pages containing teacher names, student names, or any other personal reading minute totals can NOT be accessed with this feature. If a student wishes to enter reading minutes, they must logon using their personal login information and click the [Enter Minutes] button.

Learn Login Method:

 

The [PEEK] button is found on the main login (spinning earth) page. This feature provides a quick and easy method of checking on Joe's progress while at the same time giving update progress on the district's reading goal. Using the "PEEK" button, numerous comparison pages can be activated from one central location..
